A few words you mention really stuck with me...respect, honor and stories...I have toured this work of art at least 7 times...each time I enter I feel the respect...always find a new story and honor all that I see...I have never left this magical place without a tear in my eye...as you can feel the stories deep inside to the core of your soul...thank you Rachel for creating a little slice of heaven on this earth where all walks of life are brought together to not only see buy feel the past...and hopefully share the future as one connected group.

I’m inspired by your story each time you share another piece adding to the glorious mosaic you continue to create. “Redemption is being part of God’s art toward the New Creation” writes Makoto Fujimura.

Recognizing and then acting on the call from coal as an artist, is providing fuel that warms us in a new and wonder full way.

Dear Rachel, I met you back in 2016. Seems like so long ago, yet your teachings have always stayed with me. I'm blessed to have met your whole family, your Dad, your mom, your sis and including your beautiful husband. As the years have gone by, the story you have been telling, the purpose, not only to where the Ruins live but to the world as a whole have become more and more meaningful to me. I'm so honored to have left a print at the Ruins. It's part of my best moments in life. I can still here a man saying, as I strolled down to the river for treasures: "You know, there's only rocks down there". Yep. Rocks. Our building blocks. Nature's gift.

Whoops that went out too soon! Meant "hear" a man saying...just a final word of gratitude for everything Ruins related.

Con mucho amor,

Maria

THIS is a remarkable story, Megan. Thank you for bringing this redemptive project to light via Rachel's work. I think God specializes in repurposing all the pieces of our lives--what a metaphor!

Thanks Jody! I absolutely agree! Broken pottery reshaped into masterpieces, beauty from ashes!
