Thank you for capturing this story. I'm struck by Joshua's awareness of his (and their family's) trajectory if nothing changed. And I love your question at the end. Deciding to make a major change can be hard — and intensified by how other people respond to it. But as Joshua noted, our bodies have ways of asking us to make changes. And God-is-With-Us becomes known in new ways.
Glad it resonated with you Amber - love the "God-is-With-Us becomes known in new ways." I would say they feel the same way and it has certainly proven true in my own life.
Fascinating. I think the point about the kids shedding some fear is so interesting because some dangers faced by modern-day pioneers are so different than those in the 19th century.
Thanks for reading and sharing Kasey! I really loved that part of their story. As someone who has struggled to overcome fear in my own life, the fact that Lucus and Levi are learning (at such a young age) a freedom from fear, felt really empowering. What kind of life choices will they be able to make as they continue on into adulthood, that many of us would never fathom...?
I absolutely love their story and their courage and resilience. Honestly, if I had it to do all over again, I would've loved to have lived this way even with the struggles because we all have them. They're just in one form or another. We all have to overcome things.
it's just the process of life. I used to fight it thinking that I could change it but we can't. We grow and learn every day and there will be all kinds of difficulties that come and go. that's how we learn and grow 😉
Thanks Lydia - it is a powerful story. I truly count myself honored to know them. Next week we will have the second part of their story (which is just as moving as this one).

I always said I was born in the wrong era.
Kathleen- thanks for reading! Glad to hear the story impacted you as much as it did me. It is so true - we all have things to overcome.
