I was reminded of this verse as I read your post, Megan: "For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil. A wedding song. My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer." Psalm 45:1
Megan, this is one of the most refreshing and honest things I've read in the world of Christian publication and writing. I didn't get as far as you did before I discovered the importance of platform. It definitely contributed to a hard stop, which became more of a "wait and keep writing." I look forward to hearing more about your books.
Thank you so much Amber! This means more to me than you can know! I have definitely chosen to swim against the current a bit with my approach to all of this, but it is about Him before it is about anything else. Praying we both continue to follow in His footsteps as His Word gives us "a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path."
Amen. It’s interesting. I’ve noticed in my own journey that God works through the timing in ways I often wouldn’t expect. As much as your readers need your book, we also need these stories. In delaying one project for its appointed time, He invites us into areas of ministry that might not have been on our radar.
lol…God’s still writing the story on that one for me, but I think it’ll be a fun one to share someday :-)
What a story of perseverance and faith. I enjoyed reading this piece and look forward to reading more of your writing. You clearly have a gift and a calling..
Hello from Barbados thanks for sharing insights from your call to write. I read your Crosswalk Devotion for Friday 10 January 2025 and clicked on your blog and got led here. I will return to see how the journey unfolds. May you continue to hear and respond to God's voice and leading.
Your determination, obedience and continued bent heart towards the Lord is a beautiful gift to others. It’s a blessing to be able to read your words in real-time now!

Linda - thank you so much for sharing this verse! So beautiful and encouraging! This one is going on my bulletin board!
The first time I read that I was just submitting to a magazine. They accepted my piece! I took that as a sign. :)
God is so good that way! It’s incredible when we get to see “evidence” that we are doing the will of our Father.
