Haha - thanks Jody! The headshot at the bottom of the piece is Bob. The main publication image is from the musical, Singing in the Rain. That character is Cosmo Brown (played by Donald O’Connor). He performs this fantastic musical number called “Make ‘Em Laugh” which is one of my absolute favorite performances of all time (Bob’s too apparently). And his mantra still rings true today - when all hope seems lost the best thing we can do is to simply “Make ‘Em Laugh.”
It’s remarkable how laughter can reach places heaviness never will. Sometimes joy doesn’t erase the struggle; it simply gives us room to breathe inside it.
